JobServer System Requirements
Server requirements:
- Java 1.5.x or higher
- Microsoft Windows (2000/XP) or Unix/Linux computers that are compatible with Java
- Minimum of 256M memory.
- Minimum of 100M free disk space.
- The Professional version requires a relational database. MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL are supported. Standard version comes with its own built-in database so it requires no additional software.
Client requirements:
Client is browser based and will run on IE 5.5 or higher and Mozilla 1.x. Other
browsers are usable but have not been extensively tested.
JobServer Product Installation Instructions
Perform the following steps to start the installation:
Step 1:
(Windows Platform)
After downloading the software unzip the archive file and place the contents in a directory where you want the
software to be installed. The
contents of JobServer will be contained in a directory named jobserver.
OR
(Unix/Linux Platform)
After downloading the software, put the bundle in a directory where you want the product to be installed.
Then execute the command:
> gzip -cd jobserver-std-v1-2.tar.gz | tar -xv
This will unpack the software and installs it under a directory named jobserver. Note that the TAR/GZip downloads require a GNU-compatible tar command to extract, due to long filenames.
Step 2:
Now change your working directory to the jobserver directory and follow
the instructions in the REAME_INSTALL.htm file to complete the setup process.
