The Export/Import tools allows for exporting jobs/apps from a remote JobServer instance and then importing those jobs back into this JobServer instance you are using.
To access the remote JobServer instance, you must enter the JobServer URL (e.g. http://myserver:port/) and use a username and password from that remote JobServer instance that has adequate rights to perform an export on the specified jobs/apps you are interest in.
You can import individual jobs/apps by entering a specific job id or you can import all the jobs in a partition or group by specifying a partition name or group name.
When importing jobs, you can choose to override the default job scheduling status during the import process. This allows you to import jobs and change the scheduling run status to be one of either active, paused, or stopped. You may also just leave the job in its default status.
You have the option of requesting the results of the import process be emailed to you once the import is complete. This can be useful if you need a copy of the results of the import, especially, if you are importing a large number of jobs by specifying a partition or group for import. Note, to receive emails you must have the "mail server host name" property set in the Alerts tab.
During the import, if the JobGroup and Partition associated with the job are not found, the job will be associated with the default system JobGroup and Partition. Dependency Rules, associated with the newly import job and not found in the new JobServer environment, will be ignored.
